R Praggnanandhaa outplayed Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB) to get in the lead at Grand Chess Tour Superbet Chess Classic 2025. The former World Rapid champion made an incorrect decision by trading his dark-square bishop. The longterm lingering weakness caused him to concede the game. D Gukesh drew against Bogdan-Daniel Deac (ROU) after both player missed slim chances. Fabiano Caruana (USA) got the better of Alireza Firouzja (FRA) who went wrong in the endgame. Asian Individual 2025 R3: Srija Seshadri makes a perfect start

WGM Srija Seshadri defeated WGM Rakshitta Ravi to score a hat-trick at Asian Individual Women 2025. She is now one of the five women at 3/3. WGM Priyanka Nutakki had a great opportunity to win against GM Valentina Gunina. However, she missed it and eventually lost the game. IM Vantika Agrawal escaped with a draw against WCM Khisigbaatar Bayasgalan (MGL) who missed all of her winning chances. In the Men's event, GM Karthikeyan Murali, GM Prraneeth Vuppala and GM Pranesh M drew with GM Iniyan Pa, GM Xiangyu Xu (CHN) and IM Ilamparthi A R respectively. Top seed, GM Nihal Sarin defeated IM Reza Mahdavi (IRI) to move to 2.5/3. Round 4 starts today at 10 a.m. local time, 11:30 a.m. IST.

Grosslobming GP R4: Anna Muzychuk scores a hat-trick, emerges sole leader

GM Anna Muzychuk (UKR) defeated GM Alexandra Kosteniuk (SUI) to score a hat-trick at FIDE Grosslobming GP in Austria. Anna has emerged sole leader 3.5/4. GM R Vaishali drew with GM Mariya Muzychuk (UKR) to maintain her pursuit. She is now at a half point behind the leader 3/4. GM Nana Dzagnidze (GEO) scored her first win of the event, handing GM Zhongyi Tan (CHN) her second consecutive loss of the event. IM Olga Badelka (AUT) and GM Jiner Zhu (CHN) scored the remaining two victories of the round against IM Nurgyul Salimova (BUL) and IM Lela Javakhishvili (GEO). India wins 31 medals at Western Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025

India has won a total of 31 medals including 6 Gold, 14 Silver and 11 Bronze medals at Western Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025. A total of 16 medals were won individually and 15 were team medals. R Aaranya won 3 Gold and a Silver medal, and Anvi Deepak Hinge won 2 Gold and 4 Silver medals, and Teesha Byadwal got 2 Gold, a Silver and a Bronze in Under-8 Girls category. Aamuktha Guntaka and Amulya Guruprasad won a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal each in Under-14 and Under-18 Girls category respectively. IM Ethan Vaz won 2 Silver and 3 Bronze in Under-16 Open.
